Jim's plane, the Challenger I, had an engine-out (the crankshaft failed in flight). He did a pretty good job of
bringing it down, but crumpled the landing gear. The picture above shows the brand-new landing gear
in-place and looking good! The wings were removed when it was trailered back from the crash site, and
just simply haven't been put back on. With them off, it was easier, too, to remove the engine. The engine
came back the day after this shot was taken, and he should be back up and flying in a week or so!
